Shavuot is a Jewish vacation that commemorates the giving of the Torah on Mount Sinai. It’s celebrated on the sixth and seventh days of the Hebrew month of Sivan, which often falls in Might or June. In 2025, Shavuot will start on the night of Might twenty eighth and finish on the night of Might thirtieth.
Shavuot is among the three main Jewish pilgrimage festivals, together with Passover and Sukkot. Throughout Shavuot, Jews historically eat dairy meals, reminiscent of cheese and blintzes, and examine the Torah. The vacation can be a time for reflection and renewal.
