Opus Dei is a controversial Catholic group based in 1928 by Josemara Escriv. The group’s acknowledged mission is to advertise holiness and evangelization amongst odd individuals. Opus Dei has been accused of being a cult, and its members have been accused of partaking in brainwashing and different types of abuse.
