The Copa Confederaciones, formally referred to as the FIFA Confederations Cup, was a global affiliation soccer event for males’s nationwide groups. It was organized by FIFA and contested by the winners of the six continental confederations, together with the host nation and the reigning FIFA World Cup champion. The event served as a warm-up occasion for the FIFA World Cup, which was held each 4 years.
The Copa Confederaciones was first held in 1992 and was initially referred to as the King Fahd Cup. It was renamed the FIFA Confederations Cup in 1997. The event was discontinued in 2019, with the FIFA Membership World Cup taking its place.
