Cesar Chavez 2025 is a nationwide initiative that goals to extend the variety of Latino lecturers by 1 million by 2025. The initiative was launched by the Cesar Chavez Basis in 2012 and is called after the legendary labor chief and civil rights activist.
The initiative goals to deal with the essential scarcity of Latino lecturers in the US. In line with the Nationwide Middle for Schooling Statistics, solely 8% of public college lecturers are Latino, whereas Latino college students make up 25% of the general public college pupil inhabitants. This scarcity has a unfavorable impression on Latino college students, who usually tend to drop out of faculty and fewer prone to attend faculty when they don’t have entry to Latino lecturers.
